At Petrichor Books, we envision something more than just a bookstore—we envision a space rooted in community, connection, and the transformative power of stories. And now, we’re thrilled to bring that vision to life in a new and unexpected way: as a mobile bookshop built into a mini truck!

Founded by Chris and Mallory Rohrig, Petrichor Books was born from a desire to create something meaningful — a space where people can gather, discover new perspectives, and share in the simple joy of stories. Inspired by the feeling of fresh rain on warm pavement — that scent of renewal and possibility — Petrichor reflects our hope to build something that nourishes and connects.

Originally planned as a brick-and-mortar store in the heart of West Roxbury, our journey took a turn (as the best stories often do). We’re now embracing the freedom and flexibility of going mobile, bringing books, conversation, and community directly to local markets, neighborhoods, and events throughout Boston and beyond.

From curating a collection that amplifies diverse voices to hosting pop-ups, workshops, and readings in parks and plazas, Petrichor is more than a bookstore on wheels — it’s a moving invitation to slow down, connect, and get lost in a good story.
